Travel and Sport Typical Non Spanish

Winter is finally over - the sun is out, temperatures are up, and some restaurants and bars are starting to put tables outside so people can drink a caña or enjoy their coffee on the terrace. So it’s time to make plans to enjoy the blue sky of Spain to the fullest by finding the best rooftop in Madrid!

For expats living in Madrid, we’re sure you must know all of the rooftops in the Spanish capital… but if you don’t, we’ll be sharing our top five. And for those foreign citizens who are planning to visit or move to Madrid, we’re certain this list of the best rooftops in Madrid will blow your mind.

El Viajero: Experience being a Madrileño

In one of the most authentic barrios of Madrid, La Latina, you’ll find this gorgeous and stylish rooftop. El Viajero means ‘traveler’ and the name really suits the essence of this place. Once you go in, you start traveling through the experience of this magical spot.

If you’re looking for a place to actually live the true Madrileño style and you want to feel like a local, El Viajero will fit the bill perfectly. It’s a beautiful bar with the touch of Madrid’s aroma.

It’s a unique spot in the center of the city with a diverse menu and a two-sided atmosphere: during the day, not only can you enjoy the views but also taste the local cuisine beneath Madrid’s beautiful skies, and when the sun goes down El Viajero transforms your experience into a romantic velada with music under the moonlight.

Address: Plaza de la Cebada, 11.

Jardines de Sabatini Suites: Best rooftop in Madrid to feel royal

For those looking for a royal experience in the Spanish capital, the Jadines de Sabatini apartment suites are the perfect choice for you. You’ll not only get the feeling of being part of the Sabatini Gardens but will also be able to sit down and enjoy the view of the Royal Palace.

If you wait for the right time, you’ll watch a stunning sunset in one of the best places in Madrid. You can also have the best of two important cuisines: Mediterranean and oriental, with some chill-out music and a glass of wine.

Address: Cuesta de San Vicente, 16.

Vincci The Mint: A new player on Gran Via

The perfect place to get lost with a different type of plan in Madrid. Vincci the Mint’s rooftop is one the newest in this list and has a Fresh & Music concept that transforms your visit into a charming experience. It also has a food truck filled with exotic drinks where you’ll delight in select street food surrounded by Gran Vía’s perfume.

Address: Gran Vía, 10.

Ático11: The best rooftop in Madrid for couples

On the top of the Hotel de las Letras, also in Gran Vía, you’ll find the intimate space Atico11 on the 7th floor of the building. This is not a place for crowds—it’s a place to enjoy in the company of a special person. Make your reservations and spend a stunning day in a charming little place in the heart of Madrid. Some days a DJ takes over and turns the night into an intense and wild party. Note: this Madrid rooftop bar is only open during the summer season from 6pm to 2am.

Address: Gran Vía, 11.

The Hat: So much more than a hostel

This is another perspective of a rooftop, designed to be cozy, for you to feel like you’re part of the clouds of Madrid. Some say it’s the perfect refuge to retreat from routine. The Hat is a hostel with a young touch. Its rooftop can be hypnotizing and very casual at the same time. It’s what you do and the people you’re with that can make this place more special than it is. With a delightful view over the roofs of Tirso de Molina and La Latina, along with gorgeous decoration.

Address: Calle Imperial, 9.

But you have to know that the huge Gran Vía avenue also hosts many other enchanting rooftop terraces!

So what are you waiting for? Get out and enjoy the best rooftops bars and restaurants that Madrid has to offer!
