Yearly Checkups with Caser Activa Health Insurance

For starters, it’s recommendable to see a general practitioner once a year to check your blood pressure, weight, and the general status of your health. If the doctor sees a reason for further diagnosis or screening, they will give you a written prescription for further analysis, like blood or urine. In more serious cases, they will send you to a specialist who will take it from there.

Make sure you have upfront authorization for the diagnosis and that you have passed the possible waiting period, if applicable. Please note that Caser Activa Insurance cannot be used for medical tests needed for certain sports activities, nor for scientific purposes or plastic surgery.

Specific Screenings with Activa

Infertility, Assisted Reproduction, and Pregnancy

This cover provides infertility treatment for couples and includes the study, diagnosis, and treatment of infertility. It includes up to 3 attempts at artificial insemination, 1 attempt at in-vitro fertilization, and ICSI (sperm micro-injection) if necessary. Keep in mind that for women, the maximum age for this coverage is 43 years old. To receive this treatment, both partners must be insured parties and beneficiaries of the coverage at least 24 months before treatment.

Urology

For urology, our private medical insurance includes diagnosis of infertility, sterility, and impotency, but treatment for impotency is excluded.  

General Diagnostic Methods

At the time of taking out your Activa policy, all recognized standard diagnostic methods in medical practice are included, with diagnostic tests carried out with prior written prescription from a specialist on our list of medical practitioners.

Clinical analyses

Our clinical analyses with Activa health insurance consist of biochemical, haematological, microbiological, parasitological, cytopathological, and those for surgical anatomical pathology. 

Radiology

Take advantage of standard diagnostic techniques such as plain radiology and special non-invasive radiology, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), computerized axial tomography (CAT scan), bone densitometry, and ultrasound scanning. Activa also offers coverage for visceral and vascular interventional radiology. 

Others

Activa insurance doesn’t stop there! It also extends to nuclear medicine like radioactive isotopes and gammagraphy; positron emission tomography (PET) in cases of cancer and drug-resistant epilepsy; and endoscopy for the small intestines.

Cardiological diagnostics

We offer a whole bunch of screenings for your heart and cardiovascular system: electrocardiograms, stress tests, echocardiograms, conventional Holter monitor, Holter event monitor, Doppler, hemodynamic and electrophysiological studies, and coronary CAT scans.

Clinical neurophysiology

Activa’s neurophysiology coverages are also impressive. We cover electroencephalograms, electromyography, evoked potentials, and polysomnography for obstructive sleep apnea syndrome.

Digital dermoscopy

This health coverage extends to the early detection of malignant melanoma in people with a family or personal history of melanoma, dysplastic nevus syndrome and/or when the person has multiple nevi/moles. Caser Activa insurance also covers detection of sentinel lymph nodes in breast cancer and melanoma

Early detection of deafness in children

Last, but certainly not least, you will benefits from consultations and examinations, otoacoustic emissions, and brain-stem auditory evoked potentials.
