Is there a maximum age for the car that I can insure?
As your vehicle ages, the likelihood of a breakdown or accident naturally increases. For this reason, at Caser Expat Insurance we apply certain limitations to the scope of some car insurance coverage for older vehicles.
When taking out car insurance, it’s important to bear in mind that the older your vehicle is, the greater the risk of mechanical failure or involvement in a claim.
This is the sole reason insurance providers typically introduce restrictions of this nature, either by limiting the extent of cover available or, in some cases, by setting a maximum vehicle age for eligibility.

What limitations apply when insuring these vehicles?
At Caser Expat Auto Insurance, we do not impose a maximum age limit for taking out a car insurance policy. However, we are required to restrict certain coverages or vehicles that, although still in use, exceed a specific age.
Accordingly, if your vehicle is more than 15 years old from the date of first registration, damage-related coverage will be limited to fire, windscreen damage, and own damage.
Likewise, if your vehicle is over 30 years old, it will no longer be eligible for Civil Liability cover.
In any case, if you own a vehicle of this type, we recommend that you contact us through any of our available channels so that we can provide further information and assess your situation on a fully personalised basis.
